Beatriz Lucas is the Membership Coordinator at NetHope and is responsible for facilitating Member engagement, and liaising between the organization and its Members, partners and other stakeholders.
She came to NetHope with over a decade of communication and engagement experience embedded within public, private and third-sector organizations, helping them gain value and resilience through community empowerment, stakeholder engagement, behavior change strategies, crisis communications and capacity building. She has also helped organizations rise to the challenges and trends of the information age.
Her background includes forest and fisheries conservation, environmental disasters, editing and copywriting, business to business engagement, and natural capital.
Before working at NetHope, Beatriz was the Engagement Specialist for the British government’s Environment Agency, establishing adaptable and efficient strategies that helped connect, work, and convey key messages to target audiences, including internal and external stakeholders. She was also the Communications and Engagement Lead for environmental emergency response. In addition, she managed and trained staff in crisis communications and engagement.
Throughout her career, Beatriz has worked with grassroots community and science research organizations in Mexico, Britain, France, Spain, and Portugal. She is fluent in English, Spanish, French, and is currently learning German.
