Dagbjartur Brynjarsson

Dag has been an active member of ICE-SAR since 1989 and for the last 20 years, he has been specializing in disaster management. Dag was one of the team leaders for ICE-SAR international USAR team from 2008 – 2011 and possess a UNDAC education (United Nations Disaster Assessment and Coordination).  Dag has been with NetHope now for over 5 years and is today the Senior Manager, Disaster Preparedness and Response. He has been a managing emergencies such as the Syrian Refugee Crisis in Europe, Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico, Venezuelan Migrant Crisis in Colombia, Peru and Brazil and Hurricane Dorian in the Bahamas. Dag is a strong believer in preparedness and training, and with NetHope, he has participated in designing and delivering NetHope’s Disaster Response Training all over the world. Dag has a background in telecommunications with Iceland Telecom where he worked for 23 years, having previously been director for Icelandic Search and Rescue Associations Rescue School for over 7 years.
