Katharine Brown

Katharine Brown is the Vice Chair of the NetHope Board and is based in London, England. She is passionate about helping organizations optimize through process improvement and technology enablement. During her board tenure, Katharine has chaired the Membership Committee and the Data and Applications Working Group.  She is currently an active member of the NetHope for Women Mentoring Program. Katharine has served with NetHope member VSO, as Head of Global IT for over six years, leading IT strategy and execution across three continents and 25+ countries as well as managing Facilities and Travel.

Prior to joining VSO, Katharine gained 20 years’ experience in senior roles, spanning a range of different functions including Operations, Finance, Audit and Human Resources.  Before moving across to work in International Development, Katharine spent 18 years with a major US banking institution, focusing on process improvement, change enablement and operations management.  In her role as SVP for Business Process Engineering in EMEA, she was part of senior leadership team responsible for overall strategy and execution within Global Wholesale Banking. During this time, she gained her accreditation as a certified Six Sigma Blackbelt.  Katharine also holds a BSc in Modern Languages from Aston University in Birmingham.

Katharine is mother to two grown up daughters and in her free time, supports the St John Ambulance, providing first responder coverage at high profile public events.
