The annual NetHope Global Summit is a valuable time for committed organizations to gather and focus on changing the world by utilizing this technology for good.”

DUBLIN, IRELAND – November 5, 2018 – Over 500 representatives from global nonprofits, leading technology companies, and funding organizations will gather at the Royal Dublin Society for the NetHope Global Summit 2018. They are all united by one common goal: to apply the promise and power of technology to the problems and potential of humanity.

The convener, NetHope, is a consortium of nearly 60 global nonprofits founded 18 years ago. Its membership represents the foremost development, humanitarian, and conservation organizations leading the fight against the toughest challenges we face: disaster response, refugee displacement, disease outbreaks, poverty, hunger, and wildlife and environmental protection. Collectively, NetHope members deliver over 60 percent of all annual, international, non-governmental aid.

“Technology has quickly transformed our world,” said Lauren Woodman, NetHope CEO. “The annual NetHope Global Summit is a valuable time for committed organizations to gather and focus on changing the world by utilizing this technology for good.”

Woodman added that the week-long Summit agenda includes noted keynote speakers, detailed workshops, and the release of a Digital Nonprofit Skills report that offers a far-reaching digital transformation analysis for nonprofits on Tuesday, November 6.

The theme for the NetHope Global Summit 2018 is Digital Transformation: It’s in Our DNA. As global nonprofits our desire to improve is hard-wired. Regardless of where you are on the digital journey, transformation requires a dedicated focus on people, process, and technology. It also requires camaraderie, expertise, resources, tools, guidance, and grantmaking. Together, we can evolve from being good users of technology to becoming fully realized digital nonprofits. We can accelerate the advancement of our missions and achieve exponential impact to benefit our sector and the world.

The NetHope Global Summit draws membership from nearly 30 countries for an intense week of sharing challenges and experiences, learning through participation in sessions and workshops, hearing from provocative speakers and thought leaders, finding partners through networking and collaborating, and identifying promising new technologies through the Technology Solutions Showcase.

Summit tracks include the digital NGO/nonprofit, information security and data protection, connectivity and infrastructure, and programs/refugee response.

The NetHope Global Summit has drawn 36 major sponsors, such as Microsoft and Cisco, which have supported NetHope since its founding. “Our sponsors recognize NetHope’s ability to convene the most important humanitarian actors, including NGOs, international agencies, government institutions, and corporate partners that have the common goal of leveraging technology for the greater good,” said Woodman. “We are proud to be standing alongside so many sponsors who are committed to our members and NetHope’s mission.”
