VANCOUVER, CANADA October 23, 2017 Over 300 representatives from global nonprofits, leading technology companies and funding organizations will converge at the Pan Pacific Vancouver for the NetHope Global Summit 2017. They are united by one common goal: to apply the promise and power of technology to the problems and potential of humanity.
The convener, NetHope, is a consortium of 52 global nonprofits that was founded 16 years ago. Its membership represents the foremost development, humanitarian, and conservation organizations leading the fight against the toughest challenges we face: disaster response, refugee displacement, disease outbreaks, poverty, hunger, and environmental protection.
The annual NetHope Global Summit is a valuable time for committed organizations to gather and focus on changing the world through the power of technology, said Lauren Woodman, NetHope CEO. This year, we have several exciting announcements and guest speakers in store for delegates.
The NetHope Global Summit draws membership from 28 countries for an intense week of sharing challenges and experiences, learning through participation in sessions and workshops, hearing from provocative speakers and thought leaders, finding partners through networking and collaborating, and identifying promising new technologies through the Technology Solutions Showcase.
Summit tracks include the digital NGO/nonprofit, information security and data protection, connectivity and infrastructure, and programs/refugee response.
The NetHope Global Summit has drawn 31 major sponsors, such as Microsoft and Cisco, which have supported NetHope since its founding. Our sponsors recognize NetHopes ability to convene the most important humanitarian actors, including NGOs, international agencies, government institutions, and corporate partners that have the common goal of leveraging technology for the greater good, said Tina Lee, who manages NetHopes corporate partnerships. We are proud to be standing alongside so many sponsors who are committed to our members and NetHopes mission.
