DUBLIN, IRELAND, November 7, 2018 NetHope, a consortium of nearly 60 leading global nonprofits with a mission to change the world through the power of technology, today announced that Project Concern International (PCI) has become its newest member organization.
NetHope is very excited to welcome Project Concern International to our community, said NetHope CEO Lauren Woodman. PCI is one of the most respected nonprofit organizations in the world, both for its unwavering commitment to its mission, and for its neutrality and independence.
Founded in 1961 by a young doctor from San Diego, California, who saved the lives of two small children while volunteering at a health clinic in Tijuana, Mexico, today PCI works in 16 countries across Asia, Africa, and the Americas, including the United States, serving nearly 12 million people. A global development organization, PCI drives innovation from the ground up to enhance health, end hunger, and overcome hardshipresulting in meaningful and measurable change in peoples lives.
Shared Collective Intelligence is our future, said Anthony Pitpit, Global Director of ICT4D at PCI. Becoming a member of NetHope will allow PCI to learn from other NGOs and also collaborate on new initiatives. This partnership with NetHope is instrumental for our organization going forward, as it is a great way to make the biggest impact on humanitarian efforts worldwide by pooling our knowledge and working for the greater good together.
For new members, joining NetHope means being part of a mission-driven group that collectively is committed to applying the promise of technology to the problems of humanity. While nonprofit members are independent entities, they come together at NetHope to collaborate on the use of technology and to learn from each others world-changing efforts. NetHope members collectively deliver over 60 percent of all annual, international, non-governmental aid.
