NetHope, a consortium of leading global nonprofits, welcomed three new members today, bringing its total membership to 56. The new members are: GOAL, Norwegian Church Aid, and Team Rubicon Global.
Collectively, NetHope members deliver over 60 percent of all international non-governmental aid. With the addition of these three new, committed members, the NetHope community just got stronger, said Lauren Woodman, NetHope CEO. They join us in a common goal: to apply the promise and power of technology to the problems and potential of humanity. They also join us at an exciting time. We recently launched The Center for the Digital Nonprofit, and these new members will join us on this exciting journey of transformation.
Heres what our new members have to say about joining NetHope and why their participation is so exciting.
Over the last 40 years GOAL has responded to nearly every major emergency, in over 60 countries throughout the world. We are more committed than ever to working in partnership with some of the world's poorest and most vulnerable communities to build resilience, and end poverty, said Janet Humphreys, Head of Group Services. New technologies present huge opportunities for the world's poorest people, and GOAL is determined to be at the forefront of empowering communities to maximize their potential in this area. That is why GOAL has joined NetHope.
GOAL looks forward to new collaborations and building enduring relationships with the team at NetHope, peer agencies, and technology companies, enhancing all members effectiveness in the implementation of our work.
Norwegian Church Aid (NCA) is committed to continuous improvement of our work, and we see how crucial it is to engage with digitalization and an increased use of ICT for both internal systems and value creation in the field, said Pio Ding, Director of International Programmes. Working in partnership with peer organizations and companies is vital for this work. Our ambition in joining the NetHope partnership is to contribute to the development of the knowledge base, and to access the competencies we need to meet new challenges.
While responding to crisis around the world, the Team Rubicon network has benefited from the strong support provided by NetHope, said Adam J. Szafran, Director of Global Technology. Our common bond grew as we worked side-by-side with like-minded Silicon Valley partners on a broad range of topics centered on the reality that information is aid. As game-changing technologies continue to enable both innovation and humanitarian impact at scale, we are honored to become a member of the NetHope community.
