Sharing our experience of testing a long battery life on a rugged tablet prototype in rural Tanzania. Join PATH to hear how this tablet may revolutionize remote medical record access and get a chance to share your thoughts on other possible use cases.

Switching to digital healthcare has not been an option for many community health workers serving remote locations. Often with no device available, they also must cope with infrequent access to electricity and difficult physical conditions.

This webinar with PATH, Arm, the Be He@lthy, Be Mobile (BHBM) initiative, and Accenture Development Partnerships is an opportunity to learn about a rugged tablet that has been developed to address this challenge. The prototyped tablet has a battery life of three to four days, a front and back camera with flash for simple diagnostics, and rugged casing to withstand heat, water, and dust. While this tablet was initially designed and tested primarily for the healthcare sector, we see opportunities for this durable device with long battery life to support other international development use cases, such as in agriculture, education, field conservation, and disaster relief. We are welcoming feedback on other potential uses.

During the webinar, PATH will speak of its experience testing the tablet with community health workers in Tanzania. The BHBM initiative would also like to use this opportunity to gain your feedback on the tablet and explore other potential opportunities for the device to be considered in the next round of development and testing.
