Education has been disrupted on an unprecedented scale, including in countries where connectivity is limited. Many countries which had relatively good connectivity are experiencing reliability issues from exceptionally high demand for bandwidth.

Ustad Mobile has built a learning management app that enables learners to access education content, online or offline. VSO is using their own branded version of the app with original curriculum content to reach learners and educators in Bangladesh. In responding to the COVID-19 crisis, it is also critical to ensure that digital responses support teachers.

The webinar will show:

  • How organizations can upload their own content catalog from existing resources and/or create new digital educational content. Ustad Mobile has an offline open educational resources library supported by ExpoLive (a Dubai Expo 2020 initiative) with 100,000 educational resources ready to use offline including Khan Academy videos and exercises, storybooks from the Global Digital Library, Pratham Storyweaver, and the African Storybook Project, science simulators from PHET and more.
  • How teachers can use class management features to create assignments, track student progress, and provide feedback.
  • How VSO developed custom digital content and curriculum to meet learner needs.
  • How VSO and Ustad Mobile worked together to improve the app to meet user needs.
