Meg Kemp, Founder and Principal Consultant, Alma Major. Meg Kemp is the founder and principal consultant of Alma Major. Alma Major was founded in 2019 with a desire to influence a world where creative power is distributed more fairly. She is a passionate advocate for social equity with experience in enterprise creative strategy, humanitarian technology, advocacy, UX/UI design, and user research with training from Temple University and Johns Hopkins University.
Fatou Wurie, Emergency Specialist (Digital Engagement), UNICEF. Fatou has led initiatives to improve human development outcomes in over 15 countries, with a focus on Sub-Saharan Africa. Her experiences include working with UNICEF as Emergency Specialist (Digital Engagement) on systemizing the use of innovative solutions to improve the quality of humanitarian action. In UNICEF, shes also served as the Gender & Innovations global coordinator and prior to that, founded the Survivor Dream Project, a feminist non-profit for women and girls survivors of Ebola and Sexual Violence. During West Africas Ebola outbreak, Fatou served as gender and communications advisor for UNMEER and was Regional Advocacy advisor for DFID-funded maternal and newborn health program, MamaYe! Jaclyn Carlsen, Senior ICT Policy Advisor, US Agency for International Development (USAID). Jaclyn advises on USAID's technology strategy and serves on the Digital Impact Alliance's (DIAL) Principles for Digital Development Advisory Council. At USAID she coordinates the Center for Digital Development's COVID-19 work and previously worked on the Ebola Recovery portfolio, where she managed five digital health activities. Previous to USAID, Jaclyn worked with DAI, Vibes Mobile (SMS marketing), and Rotary International. Jaclyn enjoys building teams across organizations and working with host country governments on their priorities. Ms. Carlsen has a graduate degree from Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs.
Sonja Ruetzel, ICT4D Partnerships and Conference Manager, Catholic Relief Services. Sonja is leading the ICT4D Conference (currently in its Virtual Edition) on behalf of CRS and co-facilitating this monthly webinar series. Before joining the Global Knowledge and Information Management team at CRS, she was the Event & Program Director of the Aid & International Development Forum (AIDF). Sonja has over 15 years experience researching and managing global conferences, training courses, webinars, as well as reports and whitepapers in a wide range of industries, including finance, legal, health, technology, public and non-for-profit sectors. Prior to following her passion for professional development events, Sonja worked as researcher and editor at consultancy Control Risks. She holds a Masters degree in Public Policy and Management from University of Constance, Germany.
