Cyberspace and the use of digital technologies are growing at a faster rate than NGOs and development agencies have been able to keep pace. As cyber risks proliferate and new technologies such as artificial intelligence, quantum computing, or new Internet of Things applications are shaping the threat landscape, organizations are now faced with unprecedented information security and data protection concerns.

This webinar, part of a monthly series, brings together data security experts from different backgrounds to exchange first-hand insights from recent security breaches and practical tips on data protection. Speakers will weigh in on lessons learned from cyber-attack experiences, underlining that awareness and training of staff and partners and recovery capability are as important as defense.

Topics to be discussed will include, but are not limited to:

  • What are the key learnings from recent data incidents so far?
  • How to apply good practices for breach detection and reporting.
  • What are the challenges regarding the assessment of the severity of personal information security breaches?
  • Practical guidance for data incident management.
  • One year after implementing GDPR, what are the implications for compliance going forward?
  • Good practice for training staff and program partners on cybersecurity
  • Building data leadership through mentoring and open-source collaboration
